Spring Cleaning – Duct Cleaning

5/2/2018 (Permalink)

Pet hair, construction debris, residue from smoke (fire or cigarettes), dust and cobwebs are frequent residents in a homes duct works. If the home has small children that list could also include small toys and crayons. Debris in the system can affect the over all efficiency of the furnace/AC unit.

It has been estimated that 9 out of 10 HVAC systems fail due to improper cleaning or a total lack of cleaning. That is an expensive repair/replace! The National Air Duct Cleaners Association recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years (www.nadca.com )

Duct Cleaning Importance

Duct Cleaning Machine after.

Homeowners generally do not think about their ducts until spring when it is time to turn on the air conditioning. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years (https://nadca.com/). I am amazed at the amount of debris that can come out of a ductwork system.

We recommend checking your system when you change your filter once a year and check for excess dirt. We also recommend doing research and consider cleaning your ductwork if you have pets, you are a heavy smoker, if a fire occurs in your home, suffer from allergies or asthma and after remodeling projects.

SERVPRO of Golden, Wheat Ridge & Evergreen specializes in duct cleaning. For a quote! 303-279-8055.

Vandalism & Graffiti

Tear Gas Cleanup 2016

Deliberate damage to property can cause traumatic or unsettling circumstances. Vandalism can come from police standoffs, drive by shootings and many other unimaginable types of damage and contamination. Vandalism can be spray paint or even disgruntled tenants who intentionally damage property (I have received this very call where the tenant deliberately cut up the carpet among many other things). Broken windows and other destruction can also cause water and or mold damage. Graffiti can be tough to remove without proper resources and expertise.

We recommend that you don’t try to clean it up yourself, especially if you suspect it may be contaminated. In most cases it is covered under your homeowners insurance. Call a professional. We are here to help you in any situation!
